Simple Overnight Muesli with Fresh Fruit & Nuts

This easy, nutritious muesli is perfect for a healthy start to your day. Made with high-fibre oats, crisp apple, sweet blueberries, and crunchy walnuts, it provides a balance of flavour and texture.

Prepare the oats the night before for a softer, creamier texture.

Feel free to add other fruits, nuts and honey to suit your taste, here’s some other suggestions:

  • Fresh Fruits: You can add banana, pear, strawberries, raspberries, cherries, grapes, mango, kiwi, or orange segments for a mix of sweetness, tartness, and juiciness.

  • Nuts & Seeds: Enhance the crunch and nutrition with almonds, hazelnuts, pecans, cashews, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds or flaxseeds.

  • Dried Fruits: For extra sweetness and chewiness, try raisins, dried cranberries, dried apricots, dried figs, dried dates, dried goji berries, or coconut flakes.

Equipment

  • Airtight plastic container
  • Sharp knife
  • Chopping board
  • A spoon to stir the mixture

Ingredients

  • Oats (high fibre)
  • ½ an apple
  • 6 walnut halves
  • 10 Blueberries
  • Milk (full fat or semi skimmed)
  • 1 tsp chia seeds

Preparation

  1. Wash the fruit.
  2. Cut the apple into bite size pieces.
  3. Pour the desired amount of oats into the plastic container.
  4. Add sufficient milk to just cover the oats.
  1. Add the fruit, walnuts and chia seeds.
  2. Stir to mix in the fruit.
  3. Seal the lid.
  4. Place in the fridge overnight.
